EcoMat Hessian provides temporary protection for exposed soil while vegetation becomes established. The open natural jute structure allows water, light and new growth through while helping protect the soil surface from erosion.
Made from 100% natural, untreated jute, EcoMat Hessian gradually biodegrades as vegetation establishes, leaving the plants to provide ongoing protection.
It can be used alongside hydroseeding and is suited to slopes, exposed ground and revegetation projects where short-term erosion protection is required.

EcoMat Hessian is designed to provide temporary erosion protection and will typically biodegrade over approximately 6–12 months, depending on environmental and site conditions.
Yes. EcoMat Hessian can be used alongside hydroseeding, allowing vegetation to establish through the natural jute matting.
Allow approximately 1–4 staples per square metre, depending on the slope and site conditions. We recommend 230mm staples for installation.
EcoMat Hessian is made from untreated, natural jute and is fully biodegradable.
EcoMat Hessian may provide some temporary ground cover, but its primary purpose is erosion control and supporting vegetation establishment, rather than long-term weed suppression.
