About Natural Paving
Natural Paving is a permeable paving system featuring a cellular structure bonded to a non-woven geotextile backing. Filled with decorative aggregate, it creates a stable and durable surface while allowing water to pass through the paving system.
Suitable for a range of pedestrian and vehicle applications, Natural Paving provides an alternative to traditional hard surfaces such as concrete and paving.
Natural Paving can also be incorporated into Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems, allowing permeable surfaces to support more effective stormwater management. Depending on the pavement design and site conditions, the system can provide permeability, stormwater storage and attenuation, or a combination of these.

Natural Paving is designed for straightforward installation using common tools and a properly prepared base. Most residential projects can be completed by confident DIYers, while larger or commercial installations can be completed by your contractor. Mark out the area, excavate to the required depth and prepare a stable, compacted sub-base suitable for your project.
Install the recommended base course and bedding layer, screeding it level to provide a smooth, even surface ready for the panels.
Place the Natural Paving panels, overlapping on top of the additional geotextile skirt on the prepared surface.
Fill the panels with your chosen aggregate, level the surface and your project is ready to use.
Yes. Natural Paving is suitable for light vehicle traffic when installed correctly. For heavier or more frequent vehicle use, we recommend SurePave, which is designed for higher load applications.
Natural Paving is designed for rounded pebbles between 8–14mm or granitic sand. Using the recommended aggregate size ensures the cells fill correctly and create a stable, natural-looking surface.
In some cases, yes. Natural Paving can be installed over sound or lightly cracked concrete, provided the base is stable and there is adequate drainage. If the existing surface has significant movement or foundation issues, it should be repaired or removed first.

The geotextile backing helps prevent weeds growing up from below while still allowing water to drain naturally through the surface. As with any outdoor paving, occasional wind-blown weeds may establish on the surface and can be removed as part of normal maintenance.
